Springkell Wedding Photographer - Scotland

It was a few weeks ago that I took a trip up to Springkell near Gretna Green to photograph Joanne and Barry's wedding in this beautiful part of Dumfriesshire in Scotland. It was the first time I have travelled to Scotland to photograph a wedding and Springkell didn't disappoint.

Bridal Preparations

Working with couples like Joanne and Barry photographing and recording all those memories of their day in venues like this remind me how lucky I am to be a professional wedding photographer.

Joanne and Barry both stayed  at Springkell the night before the big day. The morning of the wedding Joanne chose for her and the bridal party to get ready in the bridal suit whilst Barry alongside his best man and ushers prepared for the day at the Kennel cottage, a holiday cottage belonging to Springkell.

Ceremony

The ceremony took place in the Regency styled drawing room of the west wing, with a lavish ceiling adorned with plasterwork garlands, it was a fitting room for such an emotional blessing.

As a Yorkshire wedding photographer, it's wonderful to be able to travel so easily to new venues and have a fantastic time photographing beautiful couples tying the knot.

The season can really have an effect on a wedding and I find summer weddings are some of my favourite. The sun shone all day at Springkell that day which helps make everyone that little bit happier and meant we could all spend the day outdoors in the wonder ground of the Palladian mansion.

Speeches

The guests were all eager to hear what the groom, father of the bride and best man had to say. Some of the best reactions are photographed whilst the speeches are being delivered. Once the pianist and DJ, James Hey began the evening with the band began the evening PhyscoSlinkys began the evening entertainment the dancefloor was full, it was the perfect way to end a perfect day.

I had an amazing two days in Scotland photographing Joanne and Barry's wedding, I can't wait to get back up there!

Congratulations Jo and Barry x
