West Yorkshire wedding photographer - East Riddlesden Hall

Barn Wedding in Yorkshire

Who doesn't love a barn wedding!?? And what's better than a barn wedding..? A barn wedding in Autumn, that's what!

I met the bride and groom a long time ago; Bea and Courtney found me my very first wedding gig shooting Gary and Michelle's wedding in a beautiful house in the Ribble valley. Here I am now four years later photographing their wedding with Gary and Michelle here as their wedding guests at East Riddlesden Hall.

East Riddlesden is a 17th century hall near Keighley in West Yorkshire owned by The National Trust. The weddings ceremony for Bea and Courtney's wedding was held in the grade 2 listed barn near the lake, it's a very beautiful venue and my 3rd time shooting here, love it.

Natural, Relaxed & Rustic

Bea and Courtney are such a chilled out, relaxed couple and this is how they wanted their wedding to be, all their friends gathered together in a big old rustic barn, laughing, joking and drinks flowing! Bea had mentioned to me that she didn't want any posed photos (apart from one!). There were to be no group shots just relaxed, natural documentary photography of everyone having a great time. This is how it should be, no one likes smiling awkwardly at the camera. Let the guests enjoy themselves, and we, as documentary wedding photographers can mingle and capture the day naturally.

Preparation, Ceremony, Party!

Exactly this! This is how the day went, oh, with a few speeches and a VW camper van thrown in too. This is why this made this wedding one of my favourites from 2017. A stunning autumn  day at a beautiful venue with and amazing couple. The day was kept simple, it was a bunch of people coming together to have a bloody good time, no stress, no worries, just enjoying the day.

Hope you enjoy the photos
